The
Winner Is...
Our “Guess
how many Fairtrade Coffee Beans are in the jar” competition
was won by Davina Kecun, with a stupendous estimate of 6850; short by
only a hundred or so beans from the actual(ish) total. WELL DONE DAVINA!
Davina travels to 8th Day on public transport from Cheetham Hill
in North Manchester
with her daughter Kacie who is a year old. She says that she’s been coming
to the shop on and off for about 4 years and loves the choice and range of goods
we sell.
Her prize
is a Fairtrade cotton apron, emblazoned with the quote “Spice
it up with Fairtrade!” from The Fairtrade Foundation. Davina hopes
the pinnie will encourage her to cook more, as she has recently been making
changes
from ‘eating rubbish’ to a more wholesome diet.
Thanks to
everyone who took part in our Fairtrade Fortnight games and contributed
to the £75
raised for The Foundation. As a workers’ co-operative,
we have a natural affinity with the principles of fair trade; for over
20 years we
have been selling products which
have directly benefited producers in
the developing world. So there!
