"In February 2007, I began suffering from very noticeable changes to my complexion - reddening of the face (especially cheeks and nose) and neck that did not subside, and red spots. My skin was easily irritated and inflamed and had an overall dryness and itchiness. Previously, my skin had been clear, pale of colour and moist as only Monsieur Clarins could make it! I have always used sunscreen (SPF 20) and, where necessary, sunblock. I was unable to account for the sudden changes (e.g. no health problems, changes in skin care regime or dietary changes, or increase in stress levels). By mid March my skin condition was the same, so I consulted my GP who diagnosed Acne Rosacea and suggested it was my age (OK, so I'm 52 and menopausal). He offered no evidence but told me how to spell it should I wish to look it up. He handed me a prescription, told me to read the instructions, use it for between 2-4 weeks and come back for a repeat prescription (trainee doctors please note - not the best attitude to adopt with a woman of a certain age and dangerous temperament!). I used the gel twice a day, as directed. After 6 weeks, despite scrupulous use of the gel and following the most sensible advice found as to avoidance of possible triggers in diet and environment, there was no improvement whatsoever. I recalled some information I had found on the use of natural and essential oils for the alleviation of my symptoms, which reminded me of 8th Day. On visiting the shop, I sought advice from a very helpful and extremely

knowledgeable member of staff. Having outlined my skin problem I was recommended a range of skin care products from Living Nature, a New Zealand based company whose products are based on manuka honey and plant and oil extracts. Already aware of the benefits of manuka honey, having used it to great effect in treating sore throats, colds and minor burns, I thought if it's that good elsewhere, it's worth trying on my face. The staff member established my usual skin type (dry/sensitive) and gave the most extensive information on the most suitable Living Nature products for my needs, and full details of their contents. I was able to sample the products before deciding to purchase. I began using the Living Nature products on the day of purchase. I had no adverse reaction to any of them, but did notice during the first two days that whilst the skin felt soothed and less dry and irritable, it did not feel as 'moisturised' as I was used to. This was because there was no 'oily slick' left on the surface as all the product is absorbed. My skin became noticeably better within 7 days - the redness having dispersed from the neck and being greatly reduced on the face. The irritation and itchiness ceased. Continued use over the next 2-3 weeks cleared my spots, my nose was no longer red and my cheeks were more rose pink than purple passion! Some months on and still using Living Nature, the overall condition and appearance of my skin has never been better. I continue to have no spots and the colour of my face and neck is a healthy pale pink."
