RAW SUPERFOODS AND WHAT THEY CAN DO FOR YOU
Cacao nibs

Raw, organic wild chocolate, rich in sulphur (good for hair, skin and nails) and magnesium. Nature's number one weight loss and high energy food as cacao seems to diminish appetite due to the MAO inhibitors it contains. The nibs are also rich in anandamide (the bliss neurotransmitter chemical) which makes you feel good. What do you do with them? Eat one at a time, add to smoothies, raw ice creams or sweetened with agave syrup.

Goji berries

Considered one of the world's most powerful anti aging foods due to their strong antioxidant effects. Rich in vitamin C, vitamin A, B vitamins and Vitamin E and the complete spectrum of antioxidant carotenes including beta carotene and zeaxanthin which protects the eyes. In addition they contain essential fatty acids, 19 amino acids, 21 trace minerals, solavetivone (a powerful anti-fungal and anti-bacterial compound) and beta-sitosterol (an anti inflammatory agent).

Maca

A radish like root also known as Peruvian ginseng. It isn't related to ginseng, but is used to increase strength, energy, stamina, libido and sexual function as well as to balance hormones, boost immunity and mineralise the body.  Maca tastes malted like Horlicks and can be added to smoothies, nut milks or water. Doses range from 1 - 8 tsp per day.

Bee Pollen

It has been described as nature's perfect food, being rich in vitamins and containing almost all known minerals, trace elements, enzymes and amino acids. It is believed to rejuvenate the body, stimulate organs and glands, boost immunity and enhance vitality. It contains 35% protein, 55% carbohydrate, 2% fatty acids and 3% minerals and is also rich in vitamins B, A, C, D and E.

Spirulina

One of the better known Superfoods, widely used to maintain health, weight, energy and to help cleanse the body. It is rich in protein, containing 60-70% of its weight. Its iron levels are 58 x greater than spinach, calcium levels 10 x richer than milk, and it contains B12, chlorophyll and  anti-oxidants. And for those who don't absorb supplements so well, it is easily assimilated.
