Customer Classics

Another lovely poem from Crystalline, our resident (or so it seems) poet! We welcome contributions from all our customers.

It is good to hug or touch a tree
And feel its warm embrace as one feels a leaf
Tickling ones face
Spring is here
Summer is not far away
There is music and enchantment as one looks out of the window
Shine or rain
Whether you live in tower block city
Or suburb green
There is always something to be seen
A small bird, clump of grass or blossomed tree
Imagination can run riot
Nature can uplift you

Eighth Day's C.A.T.

On Friday 28th July, 8th Day will be hosting a clothes party, a bit like a 70s style Tupperware party……..but with clothes! Everything on sale/available to order will be either Fairtrade or ethically produced using organic materials - expect to see brands like People Tree, Hug and Gossypium. We're including a clothing swap, an idea we pinched from a Fairtrade Fashion Show we recently attended at The Bridgewater Hall. Those who bring 5 items of clothing to the event will be able to take home 5 pieces at the end of the evening, a great excuse for a jumble sale style rummage if ever there was one! If you want to participate in the swap, please make sure your donated items are clean and in wearable condition (charity shops will take clothes which are past their best). Fairtrade wine will be available to buy, accompanied by a few nibbles. Look out for the poster next month advertising this event.
