A lady visiting from Liverpool, perusing the vegetables one Saturday afternoon, asked a member of staff if a certain vegetable was a BUTTERKNOB. We think she meant to say butternut squash. The staff member said it sounded like a Freudian slip, owing to the shape of said item. Oohh, everybody had a good ol' laugh.
Sometimes we get some very strange requests and our resourceful staff members often come up with good and clever solutions!!
Phone rings-- "Good Morning, Eighth Day" Customer-- "Hello have you got any natural food colouring?" Reply-- "No, sorry. What did you want It for?" Customer-- "To dye the hay on the farm red to stop people stealing it from the horses." Reply-- "You could boil up some beetroot and spray the hay with the juice which is a natural food colour and won't harm the horses!" Customer--"Brilliant idea! Thanks a lot"
