Eighth Day Café offers a large range of local, fresh, vegan and vegetarian food for any occasion. All food is freshly prepared to individual requirements. For meetings, weddings and parties we can provide cold finger buffets that can be prepared, delivered and set upfor you. We specialise in catering for any dietary requirement.

Below are our set menus. In addtion, we can provide returnable biodegradable cutlery and plates (refundable deposit required) or we can arrange cutlery and crockery hire for you.

Sandwich platter

A selection of freshly made sandwiches, they will be half vegetarian and half vegan (v) unless you state when ordering that you have fully vegan requirements.
- cream cheese, roast red pepper, rocket
- feta, tomato, olive, cucumber
- beetroot hummus, feta, rocket
- hummus, grated carrot, sunflower seed (v)
- broad bean pate and roasted veg (v)
- tofu, chilli jam, mixed leaves (v)

Option One £4.75 a head
- two or more selections of sandwiches
- hummus and crudités
- fruit platter

Option Two £5.45 a head
- two or more selections of sandwiches
- organic, hand cooked crisps
- fresh seasonal salad with a light vinaigrette

Buffet available for 20 or more people

- spinach and feta and soya mince eastern style filo parcels
- bread basket
- 2x vegan dips, eg, mexican bean pate and roast red pepper hummus
- crisps
- 3x freshly made salads, eg, potato salad with paprika dressing, greek salad with feta cheese, tabouleh
- mushroom and sage rolls

£7.95 a head.

With buffets for 50 or more people we include sliced cakes or fruit platter and an increased variety of salads at no extra cost.

Extras - £1.00 per item per head to add onto either menu
- fruit platter, sliced pineapple, melon, orange, grapes
- barbakan sliced cakes ( not vegan but vegan option provided on request)
- available in December, mince pies (v)

Delivery not included. Buffets can be collected from the café in which case there will be no charge of course. We can arrange for delivery and you will be invoiced for that at cost. Aternatively if you require staff to be present to set up the buffet, serve and clear away there is a charge of £12.00 per staff member per hour plus transport costs and VAT. Please note that we can be flexible and are happy to negotiate the menu you want for your event.

The RSPCA Gala Dinner November 2009
After sampling some of the cafe’s food at a promotional event earlier in the year, Manchester and Salford RSPCA invited them to cater for ‘Paws for a Party’, a fund raising vegan feast for 150 people at The Whitworth Art Gallery on Oxford Road. With live entertainment, good food, organic wine and an auction - which included donations from Manchester’s most famous veggie, Morrissey - the night was a huge success. Local groups attended to support the cause, including the Manchester Vegan Society, helping to raise over £2000 for Manchester’s abandoned pets.
